The
I of Me
A Guide to the Perplexed
– Lets us make Man
This books goal is not to explain the purpose of life. It is
to achieve self awareness and thereby realize the tools you have within that help
you achieve your goals; whatever that may be. it also will help you fulfill the
purpose you feel gd created u. G-d willing. Its not about explain ing the
purpose or proving what it is but about giving the tools and reveal you innate
limitless power to be ac=bale to overcome all obstacle in order to achieve the
purpose. Obviously the purpose mist be a true one in order to be able to draw
on the infite and limitless power for that force can only be taped into when
something is real and rue. This book
will G-d willing draw primarily on Jewish sources and logic.
The point is to teach man how to activate a higher
conciseness of him so that he may overcome all of life’s obstacles.
The is a deeper part to us all and in order to live we need
to access that. This can be used both for a person who has fallen into
addiction or other habits that seem to have taken control of their life and or
even for a person who does not have any vices to defeat and . or overcome but
feels the are not utilized and living to their fullest potential
Or even one who feels life is good just wishes to work on a
specific aspect of their life to improve it better and make more perfect.
In short to help a person grow to what they want to become.
This process is a two prong process branching off into many
paths.
Step One : To believe in the soul or a higher consness and
/or level within a person. We are not discuss sing belief in Gd . we are
discussing that the person believe there is more to them their surface level.
If they do not believe this that there is no discussion for they is no deeper
level to access , only the surface of what they are and hence think they must
remain to be.
Step Two: is to believe that the body and surface level has
access to this higher consness and is interrelated to each other. That the
person not only has a deeper level within them but that the person has access
to it at will and that it is able to effect change in the surface level of the
person and body.
That one can take from the soul level and bring that power
into the body level and hence implement the desired change.
The main tool to implement this is the mind. The mind has
power over the person and its power becomes stronger through understanding.
Even more the mind can create inside a person will power that is even stringer
the original logic that decdated the
path of the logic. Hence the most important tool a person can have understands.
Here the person must understand how his soul has the power
to effect change. Then it must understand the soul. After understanding the
soul it must understand the power of the soul how it communicates and is able
to make it will known and felt to itself and to it host. Basically self
consencess .
After that the person must understand his body and what the
body’s habits are. tO understand what its drive are and how we view our body
dectaes whether we even desire to change it and in what direction.
Finally the person as a whole both body and soul combined
must make conseince decion as to how it wishes to live. It is joint effort of living that the soul and body
decide that the most meaning firl type of existence while combined is one that
both the soul and body chooses. .The body itself needs to feel the need to
change and implement the understanding of the soul and mind.
The conclusion that should be reached will be and shoul be
two fold
A Harmony of
them both . the divide between body and
soul gone. They become one.
B usually this will
entail a choice of something that is beyond then both. Gd family and greater
good etc.
Over view:
Man is composed of three parts
The soul the body and the soul as it lives inside the body.
Each of these three are separate events and entities, the
third is a combination of the two. The soul before it entered the body existed
as a separate entity, wholly spiritual. The body exists without a soul as we
see when one dies the body continues to be until it disintegrates. So what happens when the two live as one.
Also what is the point of the soul being in the body and if
there is a purpose how is it fulfilled?
The main question is what is life about and how does one
achieve that goal. And obliviously the fact we live means we have the tool to
accomplish those goals. So what are the tools and what is the goal.
For some the question is a futile endeavor and also of no
interest.
They might say something like; “The body is who we are.
Physical existence is what it is all about and the soul is here to give the
body life and physical sensation of physical pleasure and material joy. When we
get old and die its over”. You might say that to them it’s not really a soul
but some sort of bodily life force of being. Like the life force of an animal
or worse. Procreate, live enjoy defend and die.
The only problem with all this is consciences’, meaning the
feeling of wanting more, guilt and desire to do good and be right and rationalization of
evil activity into saying they are really good. Even wicked people try to do
this. Why?
If life is only about the animal in us then live fast, burn
and die. Why bother with good and evil or about feeling good or bad about
something. So we see there is an innate deeper conciseness in man.
Where does it come from? Its not just intellect. It’s
deeper. Both the good and bad.
Others might say that the existence of man is his or her
soul. The body is a fetter, an anvil around the neck of the soul that wishes to
leave the body and be wholly and alone spirit as it was before it entered the
body. Bodily existence, they say is full of suffering, the drives and pulls ad needs
of the body and pain.
Bodily Pleasure only distracts the person from his true
purpose which is soul. Pain suffering help the person realize the eternity of
the soul and act as a filter. The body becomes more translucent to the soul
which is key. To them it’s about after life and their fate in heaven or where
ever the soul goes after life on earth.
The body is mostly looked as an evil, or as best a test to
overcome to achieve reward for having resisted the body temptation a desires
and drives or even if best to use the body to do good. But still the point is
to remain cleans a spiritual and return the soul clean after living on earth
and enjoy eternal reward and bliss forever. Now being greater for having
survived the evils of the body and done some good on earth.
The question here is then, why the soul was sent down to
earth. If the only issue is the reward that comes after death and leaving the
body. Then the risk is too great for some actual return from where they came
after death more bruised and ruined the before they left. The person might fail
in his quest of spirituality and have hampered the reward and bliss or whatever
goodness the soul had have before its life on earth.
So why take the risk of having live in the body for possible
greater reward when the opposite is also possible as well. Why take the risk
for ruination.
A better possibility is that there is a goal and a purpose
in having the soul and body live for some time together. Where both body and
soul with their opposite needs join and accomplish a goal and or purpose. Hence it would make sense for them to join,
though extremely opposite they are. And indeed because of this purpose or
reason they soul and body are joined because this goal actual transencedes them
both and brings and certain truth to them both that cannot be accomplish had
they never been joined as one and its is through the joint efforts of the body
and soul then this deeper truth and realty is revealed and brought to the
goodness of the body and soul and to the greater purpose that they fulfilled.
Sol what is that goal and how do we achieve it and what are
the tools that both the body and soul have to revealed that deeper level of
essence that indeed the both posses equally.
It is the combination of the two that is our goal. To show
that the dichotomy and split between body and souls are only on the level of
our initial perception. But through a greater understanding and action in an
appropartly way . the unity and will be revealed for we will see they both come
from the same source and share the same essence. Of that from which they have
both come. Indeed the essence of all is revealed through this struggle of body
and soul and the harmony and oneness that is achieved through mans life on
earth. This internal unity and oneness that man will create/ reveal in himself
will reveal the unity into the entire world. for man is a microcosms of the
world and universe. ‘
Healing that split and showing its all is one will do the
same for the world and society and spirtail and physical existence of every
level It is is all in the heart and hands of man.

The Premise: Lets us make Man
Chapter One -The Soul
The point: In order to reach our goal we must belieb there
is more to ourselves then just a body. We need to even belive there is more
then a soul. We need to believe that the infite exist and that we have access
to it within us.
What is the Soul, various studies and beliefs will teach it
to be many different things. Type in,
“Soul” into a computer and see what comes up.
Webster dictionary:
: the spiritual part of a person
that is believed to give life to the body and in many religions is believed to
live forever
:
a person's deeply felt moral and emotional nature
: the ability of a person to feel kindness and
sympathy for others, to appreciate beauty and art, etc.
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/soul
Of the many discussion, is if the soul lives outside the
body or is only alive while in the body.
Whether in the body or out of the body, is it intellect,
emotion or drive? Is it conscience and self or the ultimate “ I “ of the
person. Did it always exist or did it
need to come to be?
Does it have a purpose and that is its definition or it has
no definition at all. Many of the modern and ancient philosophers debate this,
including sciences and modern medicine which wonders if even the soul exit as a
spiritual entity but is maybe only a neurological phenomenon?
However I believe that the first step of understand the soul
and for that matter any spiritual concept is to first see how it is viewed on
the superficial level and then to show the misconceptions that have evolved in
it or ideas that have been left out.
The way people or the human mind looks at it initially and
then to remove the husk of misconception and get to a truer and more correct understanding of it
even if only a bit.
Meaning even if we do not get to the best understanding,
have getting rid of the miscrewed understanding, is also good.
Even an understanding of what something is not is better than
an incorrect understanding saying that this is it.
In the case of the soul, for the most part people define the
soul as the spiritual part to the body or if even outside the body it is either
a limited being or a infinite one.
Page 1
The questions then is there an in between that can combine
many of the ideas thus showing the true essence of what the soul is and hence
might contain all of the various explanation of what a soul is.
One idea discussed is being verily a part of Divine that has
been made to become a creation.
But to really understand this you need to understand its
maker and the process by which it came to be.
You also need to understand that there is an essence to all
things and a revealed part to all things.
Meaning each and every being has an essences and revealed
part to it.
The difference being is that the essence of an object cannot
be divided, it is the “I” of the thing itself.
Using the example of an apple the essence of the apple would
the fact that it is and apple. That does cannot and cannot change unless your destroy
it.
Then there is the structure, taste, color, smell, size,
texture etc of an apple. That is something that can change. Say you cooked the apple,
it now is soft, or you cut it up it now is small.
Yet the apple of the apple;
the fact its and apple, cannot change.
Hence you know what the essence of an object is or the
revealed aspect of it, is by seeing what of this object can change and be
modified and what cannot be changed.
So in an apple, the apple so to speak in the apple cannot
change or it seizes to be an apple.
We are not speaking of the matter of the apple; matter can
change forms just as energy can. But even there, the essence of matter is that
it is some form of substance.
We are speaking of that in the ample that cannot change,
that is the essences of it. Because the color size, texture taste etc can
change then that itself shows it is not the true essences of it only a
character trait that it posses.
The same is true with every object whether spiritual or
physical there is the essences of it and the character and traits it posses.
One cannot change unless you destroy and it seizes to be
while another can change for all you have changed is its which brings us to another
rule when deckling with the essence and that is that when u grasp a bit of the
essence that you have grasp all of the essence.
Every bit of essences contains all of the essences. For the
essnce is not measured b y size but y what it is.
Again using the example of an apple, if a person received a
small piece of an apple or smaller apple, does that mean that the size of the
apple now questions whether this is an apple.
Is it less apple when it is small or more apples if it is
large?
Page 2
What changed is its weight and size and how much u received
but not whether it is an apple or something else, say an orange.
It’s all apple…more or less is measurement is its revealed
part of its self, its traits but not is essence, what is actually is.
Using a more refined example, say one has many children, if
one is more like the parent or less like they parent does this change whether
the child is theirs.
The child is there is a essential quality that cannot be
changed, the child mind, heart, character , physical looks and qualities can
change but the fact that this is your child cannot be undone
Taking this even one step up, all existence essence is the
fact that they live or exist, but each has its own parameters , like the space
has six direction and an idea has depth and length, the same each object has traits
that define what it is and separate from being anther hence it gives it its identity,
but the essence of the object is that it exits , or say a living being it essence
is that it lives, the form of life that it takes on is already manifestation not
essence.
Taking this a step further G-d too created so to speaking
with in Himself.
The essence of Himself which is concealed, and the revealed aspect
of Him. In truth both of these aspects in Himself are only just that, an
“aspect” He himself is above being limited and revealed or being infinite and
concealed. There is no definition for G-d except that He is and does what He
chooses to be and do.
The idea of Him is being the “impossibility of impossible” ,
He is what He chooses to be and is not compelled in any way. Compulsion can
come in many forms. From within or without but in all cases it is due to a limitation.
A person can be compelled due to an outside source because
of fear or need. Or be compelled due to a perceived want or desire. With G-d
there cannot be either for if yes then he is by definition not Gd for
Another power or equation has control and is making demands
on His behavior. The definition of G-d must be that He is free to act in all
places and time and is free from all weakness or lacking.
Does not have any need or want.
Even an intellectual rule or equation or even rational
correctness and intellect are not a limit to Him for He transcends that.
The only true why we can know if His will is through Him Himself
revealing that to us through revelation.
However He can chooses to have a limit but this to being
self inflicted is not like the limits of any other being for if G-d chooses He
can at anytime release Him from that bind and limit.
Page 3
True is actual a good way to describe G-d but the
understanding of truth here means that it is infinite , for true truth must fit
and agrees on all occasions,. A truth is not a truth if it is true some of the
times and not all the time,. Truth must be true all the times.
And as well agrees with all ideas forms.
Truth is not only true to u but be true to us all.
With g-d another aspect the rambam mention s is that he
exists not like other forms of existence. He does not need to be like other
beings in order to be. Other being must fill times and space. A before and
after. To G-d not only does He fill all
time, of past present and future but He transcends time entirely.
Meaning He does not need to exist in time or order to be .
Lets look at this form an intellectual point and then even
beyond that
Mimandois describes
Gd as being the knower the knowledge and the power to mean.
Meaning when dealing with the human mind there are there components
to the process and three steps for knowledge to be transmitted from one being
to the next.
The three parts are the entity that does not yet know.
The idea or event that occurred that will be known and the
power of knowledge to simple know that will be used to place the know into the
knower.
Because each of these entity are separate beings each separate
from each other hence each compliments and give or receives from the other.
Also they are beyond time. Perhaps not in time of minutes and moments
but in the process of order and before and after.
There is the before the knower knows. There is after the
knower knows and the process during the act of knowing. Mainmodis concludes
that even in the realm of the intellect
gd cannot be known for he knows in a way that is not the why of limited beings
and is one with all of the steps of knowledge , for he is the knower the
knowledge and the power to know for all come from him
Hence is knows without a past present or future in the
process nor of a recipient or giver or of any change occurring in the process
for they all occur within him.
It is as if one knows himself as the Tanya describes it
And even this is not the definition of infite for this is
yet a description of the process of knowledge albit ine not as the one known o
us.
For as the marajhl points out gd is not called the knowledge
blessed is he but the holy one bless be he
Page 4
Hence according to mystical teaching even this description
of gd as the moandes calls is is a limitation and only occurs after gd allows
himself to be limited some to speak.
He himself is more “defines as we stated before beyond any
description even of being iunfite or not physical. For he is what he choses to
be.
Another approach of
the myztica and scholar is the the closes we can get to g-d is not real what he
is but what he is not
Which that to is a from of knowledge.
Shlila iyh a limited thing cannot be grasp by description
and infinite thing is best described but what they are not.
The same with place things that exists take up place more so
it defines them. More than just a measure of space it fills but actual
describes and definition them.
o to spiritual when dealing with a spiritual idea that to is found in time and
place , alibt a spiritual one,.
For example two plus two is four exist in the realm of math.
It also excitant in time for time mean not only time on the face of a clock but
order…(derech mitzvosecho) of before and after and as well order of priorities.
Hence math can nt add up unless there uisa before an after
and summing thing to add..
This approach is radically difference then those who believe
numbers and math make uo the ultimate equation for number can be undefined and
hence infinite.
Yet that is not te true definition of the infinite for ones
needs numbers to add
It’s really just an infinite equation made of finite
numbers.
True infinite transcends needing something that keeps
adding.
Its transcends that.
Hence true infinite must also transcend being spiritual or
physical.
If physical its ia composite that takes up time and place is
in some place and not others and even where it is is only because that space
always it to be a hold it there.
If spiritual then it needs some sort of equation or thought
process or some sore of value, explanation definition , or argument to explain
it being, that argument, explanation measure of what is is and there not
something else is its limitation and hence it is not all things and cannot be
true infiote.
Page 5
Definitions which that itself creates a limitation.. the limitation
is whet actual defines it and differentiates one from another. With g-d we
cannot say that for then he would not be g-d in an equation with the formal
that makes him does not exist hence he must not have any formula or definition
for then he would be exiting only in the scope that definition.
( the I of me….
The soul is like its maker, a bit of the divine and infinite
that has been made into a finite being and creation.
He is independent of quality or accomplishment and his worth
is not based and him making something happen or being right.
He is not a composite or gets pleasure for thing outside of himself
for is contained in him and all comes form him… he is not even compost within himself
it is pure to the ultimate purity and simplicity of form and yet exit and come
into limitations if it chooses for if not that being nfinet would be its limitations.
The issues then would be can he create and rock that he
cannot pick up…
The question appears deep for then if u say he can create
such a rock he cannot pick it up. Hence a
limit if he cannot pick it up then he now has limit as well.
The explanation to this is that it is not a disadvantage to
not be able to self destruct. We attribute qualities s to gd not stupidity. Not
being able to be stupid is nt an imperfection.
Hence the only thing that gd so to speak does not do is undo
himself. And create and identity that will oppose him for it is impossible for
all things come form him and are part and parcel f him..
However the concept of evil. That is a length one. And yes
it does comes form him dn oppose him but ist purpose is to bring man closer to
him..
Also evil has no real power it just appears that way.
The appearance of concealment and rebellion is what gd does create
ut it is only in our eyes and it is not reya.
This is the idea of tzutzum…
This too the soul has in it the power of the infitne.
The Talmud explains how we know of its extance though we
cannot grasp it.
Iun sense part of the sign that it is infite is its yearn
and insauity to be satisfied.
The soul hence can only find fulfillment with a purpose
beyond itsl and something infite as it.
Page 6
The physical pleasure will not do it moshul of song with
king…the soul is infite a piece of it is all of it indefinable all limitations
occur after it descends into the body…elabte iyh oih rebbe
With tis we can explain all the difference aspect of the
soul iyh…
Zg
The soul too being a part of gd too has the infinite in it
albeit they way it comes into a creature.
Buyt as stated every object has a core its essence and the revealed
aspect of it.
So to the soul has its essence and the revealed aspect of
it.
The essence of the soul in its purest form is that it
is part of gd that is.
Open that is indescribable and senses and feels the divine
and the infinite.
Its natural state “ if we may describe so is to yearn from
gd lines and the dinde to yearn for the infinite.
That defines its being
; to be part of what it came from. A constant of flux to reunite to its source it is
the only being that the act of it being created is not
concealed to it. All being where made to feel as independent beings. Only the
souls was made in a way that it there is a window into itself of from where it
came.
Its like a child who is born an remembers ist early life
time of feels how it still is in its mothers worm even after being born.
The soul still feels and innate connection from where it
came.
The ruels as essnce aplly to it as well.
A bit of the essence contains all of the essence.
The essences cannot be divided.
It so not defined by definition other that that it is apart of something else that is its
beyond definition
That is its definition.
As with gd we cannot define Him so to this piece of him has
the ability to transcend all limitations even its own.
All other aspects of the soul are not the essence of the
soul vbut the revealed part of it.
Page 7
Thus it has in it the
divine and the mundane, the infinite and the finite combined. This combination
creates in it an impossible existence of both ascent and descent at the same
time. The Souls nature is to return to the divine infinite it came from, the
limitation imposed upon it by becoming a being, makes it desire self
preservation and holds it back from being completely absorbed back to its
original source.
Yet this dichotomy of existence is possible for the essence,
of the soul contains both the possibility of being finite and infinite. It to contain
that which transcends both the finite and infinite and thus it is able to
combine them both.
So what is the Soul; something that cannot be defined, like
its source. It just is
But because of this dichotomy it has both a striving for
higher and a drive for descent.
This is apparent in the many drives and desire the human
being has. Man is a mixture of madness that cannot be explained or consistent
for his inconsistency is what he is. He must strive for more.
*note 1 The Book of Tanya primary work of Shneur Zalman of
Liadi founder of the Chabad philosophy. See Chapter 2.
According Chassidic philosophy the soul being verily a part
of G-d constantly desires G-d lines and cannot be satisfied with psychical
desire alone. It strives to and needs the divine; hence it is never happy until
it finds a divine goal.
Think of an extra terrestrial being forced to live outside
its habitat.
But on a deeper level the soul itself lives or shall we say
is. The fact that it feels is already a step away from its essence its core.
Meaning all things has the revealed aspect of it and the essence of it.
The part that is indivisible, and equal in itself on to all
part of itself, the part that cannot be defined but just is. Above its self
awareness of it being, above pleasure, wants, intellect, emotions and acts
towards revelation and achieving. The essence is as its is without the ability
it has for self awareness or self expression. Has no wants or needs it just is.
What is the soul on that level?
Lets us say, then in all things that exist, there is the way
it is before becoming a spate entity with its own identity and then there is it
they way it does become one. These two levels are retained in the object even
after its is “born “ and or / created.
Am I being honest ???????.....what is my idea…why is
something have an essence and and outside….shell… The level in itself that is
the seminal level how it first was in its maker but then left.
Two example of this is the master teacher thinking of the
idea he will give over to the student over in his mind. Or even more so, how
parents picture in their mind the child that will be born. In these cases the
idea and child is only born in the teachers and parents mind. It does exit but
not as a separate entity, a
Page 8
This is way we do not
understand ourselves and always want more. On a deeper truer level no one
really understands themselves.
At the very best we just know that we act a certain way and
most work ourselves to accomplish or stay away from things that harm us. But we
are not really sure who we are only that we behave a certain way and even that
we are not sure if we would act different if in different settings.
It is in the setting we begin the next chapter and need to
understand what then is the sould purpose and why would a being that has no
lmit and the power of free choice what then
would be its purpose or in other words what setting would serve tis
entity best existing in a new encvirterment that seems to be a test of his very
existence.
In other would if you created the soul what setting would serve
it best.
As we shall see it is best served in a place that the power
of the infinite in it is revealed . a place where existence makes no sense but
is given to it by the actions of the soul as it transcends it understanding at
the value at meaning of those acts are really only mean full for the soul
itself gives it is meaning.
Not due to any intrinsic value of the act itself only a setting where no pull in any direction
compelling the soul it act in any way. Or any revealed meaning or idea of good
or bad is known and the soul must discovered it or even if revealed to it the
soul must be able to reject it and must choose its path.
A path that makes no real sense other that it fulfills the
drive of the infinite soul and even makes the soul reveal its core essence of
the infinite. A being without limit
other then striving to reconnect to its source and then transcends even that by
fulfilling a purpose greater then itself known to it only be the gd head source
revealing that it is piece of itself and the piece of the greater self sacrificing
ist nature to fulfill the “will” of its source head.
It order o accomplish this and even feel its desire and
yearning it will need to have a body a structure and revealed part of itself.
Where revelation can be revealed to it.
Where it can feel
Where it can act
Where it can progress and bring to fruition. It will need a consciences
of its own yearning.
Hence to separate and then reunite.
In conclusion: The soul itself being that it feels itself is
a creature it has ego and a feeling of self existence. On the other hand because
its source is not concealed from it , it still feels a yearning to returning to
it.
Page 9
Not just to pleasure it
self or extend its existence like all other being of existence. Rather because
it it feels g-d ny less , unlike any other creature that is self serving but, the soul wishes to serve and reattach to its
source; G-d.
In this itself to reach this point of total self
nullification it to has a schism, on the one hand it wishes to be total
consumed and nullified ( bittul bmentzious) yet if that where to be it would
cease to exist entire. so the soul in order for it to even perceive it is
beining nullified it retains existence and ego albeit and ego that is involved
in the service of Gd( bitul hyesh)
knowing that in truth it should not exist at all,
This opposite pul is what makes the soul strive and rest.
Run and return. It is the perception knoiws as seeing where one would be total
lost in the present of a gor being and sourse if one where to actai=ul see the
source of life in us and the level of hearing ; meaning knowledge where we do
not see the source of life in us bit feel it and understand and “hear “ it sop
to speak . meaning we know and prcive through faculties that still allow form
sol self perseveration.
If the true core and vision meaning seeing the actual source
viviving inside our selves would be revealed we would seize to be.
Yet the soul some how sense this hence it is a creature and
a non creature at the same time.
Due to this it to it desire and can bring that greater force
in it to fulfill and purpose greater then itself meaning greater even then the
soul not only greater that the body that houses it. Ultimate the soul itself will
become so transformed to the sense of nullification that it will revels the dichotomy
of being able to be and yet be total nullified at the same time. Self consonse
and loss of of consiones at the same time.
It will be able to sense what is is to be how g-d is . the impossibly
of implosblity on (it its level.) For g-d essence we will be revealed in it and
all of creation. ( see purpose chapter).
The Soul/ the I of me is really beyond even self
nullification that serves a greater being but total self nullification as I””
the soul is found in G-d mind and thought before it even separated itself itnto
being and that itself will be revealed in the soul after it came to be. The level of Prophecy on the highest level
not just description and intellectual concepts but vision of the process ansd

Chapter Two – Mind
iyh
The mind is the seat of consciousness and it is from there
that man discovers self and purpose. A person can live while asleep but cannot
make purposeful choices unless being awake and have a mind.
So what exactly is the mind and why is it so important; vital
to being.
One can argue that the mind is only reacting to the physical
body and its needs. a tool of the body for survival and self preservation . but
not the seat of the soul revelation to self. And body.
So what is the mind?
A mind /ˈmaɪnd/ is the set of cognitive faculties that enables consciousness, perception, thinking, judgement, and memory—a characteristic of humans, but which also may apply to other life forms.[3][4]
A lengthy tradition of inquiries in philosophy, religion, psychology and cognitive science has sought to develop an understanding of
what a mind is and what its distinguishing properties are. The main question
regarding the nature of mind is its relation to the physical brain and nervous
system – a question which is often framed as the mind–body
problem, which considers whether
mind is somehow separate from physical existence (dualism and idealism[5]), or the mind is identical with the brain
or some activity of the brain,[6] deriving from and/or reducible to physical
phenomena such as neuronal activity (physicalism).
Another question concerns which types of beings are capable of
having minds, for example whether mind is exclusive to humans, possessed also
by some or all animals, by all living things, or whether
mind can also be a property of some types of man-made
machines.
Whatever its relation to the physical
body it is generally agreed that mind is that which enables a being to have subjective awareness and intentionality towards their environment, to perceive and respond to stimuli with some kind of agency, and to have consciousness, including
thinking and feeling.[3][7]

As I sit here pondering what to write,
what is it, exactly, that is doing the pondering? Where do the thoughts come
from? How does the 3 lb mass of grey matter that is my brain give rise to the
felt experience of sensations and thoughts? It sometimes seems essentially
inconceivable that the water of material processes could give rise to the wine
of consciousness. Indeed, it is so famous a conundrum that it has a name...the
(in)famous mind-brain (or mind-body) problem. Failure to have consensual
resolution to the mind-body (MB) problem remains at the heart of psychology and
its difficulties as a fragmented discipline.
My goal here is to briefly explain how the unified theory of psychology (link is external)
(UT) resolves the MB problem.
And
the Ikey I believe is the fact that the mind is neither only
a nero response or just a spiritual entity outside of the body alone. ‘
it is rather an inpendant idea that live as part of the abilities
of the soul. And then when enters into the body takes on some of the
limitations of the body but yet pushed the body to search for more.
True mind is the combination of three intellectual processes.
chabad
In the soul outside the body this process makes it cognitive
of G-d only one level and when in the body and a different one.
In the soul its more about love and closeness in the body
its about yearning and self sacrifice to fulfill a purpose.
As with the soul we described above the mind to has various
explanations as to if it only exit in the body or exist inpendently
As with the soul we attempt to combine the extreme
approaches to unite them and show a path that combine both the same we must do
foe the mind.
Explaining how it is both influenced by the body and yet a
window into the beyond.
As explained the source of the soul is the abstract of all
abstraction the pure of the pure where the impossible is impossible. How that
does the soul function and even have faculties. For the source created in the
separate being that it wishes to make . conscness I,e the mind.
However for that to be there needed to be another concealment
( tzimtzum) the first was the source decided to separate a piece of itself and make it a being outside of itself. but
the essence of the being as all beings are without structure or descrbtion only
a pure piece of matter so to0 speak from which it came.
\it now needs to take that matter and some to speak form it.
Or as if to see to take the energy and give it direction and self knowledge i.e
cosncness that can only cone through the existence of a mind.
True there is no limit to how the source can do this however
looking now at existence after it being made we can se the sense in how it was
made.
Also thought we can ask why this way when we are dealing
with the unlimited. However the question that can best be ask is why bother
with a process at all. and indeed there is no need of a strure unless
the purpose is for the being outside of g-d that he made be
aware and part of the plan that he is part of and must fulfill.
Also Indeed the mind itself can be divided into three
separate steps of intellect and awareness for the mind is really just a tool of
what is put into it by the soul.
Hence we need to understand the mind the way is in inpendent
of the body.
How the soul itself has a mind. And then how and why it is
needed in the body.

Chapter 5
The Body
a)
Body
b)
The question then is how do you connect the soul
with the body and have them each be aware of each other to fulfill that greater
purpose and achieve the harmony for both. its is through two steps
c)
a) Action
and the mind . Let us first examine the mind:
d)
The second step in the soul body process of
function to fulfillment of purpose is the mind.
The soul that was discussed in chapter one is housed in the
body. What is the body. If you search the internet you will find much written
on the body. As it is physical. It seems to be understood and addressed with
clarity. Both as an item of health and life itself on earth as well as an
object of desire.
To quote Wikipedia :
“The human body includes
the entire structure of a human being and comprises a head, neck, trunk (which includes the thorax and abdomen), arms and hands, legs and feet. Every part of the body is composed of various types of cells, the fundamental unit of life.
At maturity, the estimated average number of cells in the body is given
as 37.2 trillion. This number is stated to be of
partial data and to be used as a starting point for further calculations. The
number given is arrived at by totaling the cell numbers of all the organs of the body and cell types. The composition of the human body is made up of a number
of certain elements including carbon, calcium and phosphorus.
The study of the human body involves anatomy and physiology. The human body can show anatomical non-pathological anomalies known as
variations which need to be able to be
recognized. Physiology focuses on the systems and their organs of the human
body and their functions. Many systems and mechanisms interact in order to
maintain homeostasis.”
But what is the purpose of the body and its spiritual
counterpart. Some view the body as a
mechanical object of life made of flesh that lives but has no soul only life
and its objective is to preserve itself through consumption and
procreation. Fighting for survival and pleasure. Once the body dies life seizes, indeed
without the body being able to function at full capacity where t procreate or
enjoy phiclas life they , would argue that life is not worth living and it
should be ended. Others teach that the body is sinful and should be broken and
contained in order to allow the soul to be unfettered by the body.
The body is seen as animalistic and low, it has no good
purpose in and of itself and must be rid controlled. Addiction, lust arrogance
etc all sin and imperfection come from it.
Its is temporary and only a passage way to resists in order
to do good needs and achieve fulfillment for the soul in the after world.
Heaven etc.
Chassidic
philyopshy teaches that the physical
and spiritual worlds are reflections of each other more one is rooted in the
other. As the sea reflects the earth and its creatures and for every creature
on earth there is its twin in the sea so to for every creure oin earth there is
its counterpart in spiritual realms
the body and all matter is made of four elements, fire ,
air, water and earth.

Note to self iyh a reread write small intro to each and summation after. ( at the ohel… the rebbe “told” meweek of heh tevet 5776 Friday 13 tevet?me in my ( it came to me…there..Mind) that it’s all about explain access how we have access etc… the idea alone is not enough it’s like a pie in the sky.
Also this whole discussion is similar to whether the rebbe is alive.
The fact that this is discussed is in itself a posisitive step and a talk to the possibility of afterlife and resurrection and the discovery if the truce definition of life.
is life body soul or something that transcends them both….
